Have you ever watched kids at play? They do things without thinking. They do things without fear. Yet, somehow, as we’ve gotten older, that fear became a HUGE monster that stops us in our tracks and holds us back from the magic we have within us.
We start telling ourselves things like:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I want to do this, but I don’t think I have time for that.”
“So and so is doing this too and I don’t think I can do it as well as she can.”
“I don’t know enough to make this happen.”
You know what those things are? Straight up lies.
Those are the negative things we tell ourselves that hold us back from our greatness. How do you know you’re not good enough if you don’t even try? Think you’re going to fail? But, Sister, what if you kick ass? Don’t think you can do that thing as well as Becky? Stop comparing yourself! Do things your way, FOR YOU, and have fun along the way!
That thing you want to do, write it down. Every. Single. Morning. WRITE IT DOWN. When you do that, it will become the thing you manifest and so what about fear. Feel the fear and do the thing anyway.
What is the story you keep telling yourself that stops you from doing that one thing that you can’t stop thinking of doing?
My mom always uses the phrase “eat the frog” which translates to “do the hardest thing first”. I think about this every time I procrastinate or dread tackling a task.
I love that phrase! I’m a professional procrastinator, so this is definitely something I will remember the next time I want to push “that thing” aside. Thank you so much for sharing!
